Solutions for breweries industry

The brewing process generally generates unique, high-strength waste water as a by-product. The waste water typically has a high concentration of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) form the carbohydrates and protein used in brewing beer.

Brewery waste water usually has a temperature of > 25 °C.

The high level of soluble COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand) and the temperature makes brewery wastewater an ideal substrate for anaerobic treatment sometimes followed by aerobic treatment, depending on the local discharge requirements.

Financial or regulatory pressures can encourage brewery management to seek capital investment in the waste water treatment area to reduce annual operating costs.

The Up flow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (HydroThane STP® UASB) process and the External Circulation Sludge Bed (HydroThane STP®ECSB) process from HydroThane are worldwide proven processes for the treatment of brewery waste water.

HydroThane plants for breweries are constructed in such a way (odor-free) that their plants can be located close to urban areas and have a limited foot print.
