HydroThane STP® WSP

The HydroThane STP® WSP uses mixed liquor from the aerobic treatment plant as scrubbing liquid. Hence, the H2S is dissolved as H2S(aq) ↔ HS- + H+ in the mixed liquor.

The sulphide enriched mixed liquor flow is recycled back to the aerobic treatment plant where the sulphide is oxidized into sulphate.

The principle is the contact between the gas-phase and the Iiquid phase in counter-flow. The absorption-rate depends on the transition rate of the H2S from the biogas to the scrubbing liquid.

The latter is dependent on the pH of the scrubbing liquid and on a well-designed HydroThane STP® WSP.
