The Hydrothane STP SWD (Solid Waste Digester) is based on the technology of the CSTR (Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor). The HydroThane STPSWD technology is mostly used for waste reduction and green energy production.
The SWD concept mainly consists of a completely mixed reactor that can be provided with a sludge separation (sludge recycle) equipment, but is generally designed/built without this recycle. Inside the HydroThane STP SWD reactor the active anaerobic sludge is kept in suspension by mechanical mixing (top entry of side entry mixer(s).
The HydroThane STP SWD reactor is typically used for waste (water) streams with very high solids, FOG (Fat - Oil - Greases) concentrations, extreme high Ca2+, high ammonia content.
The loading rates for this kind of reactor are typically in the range of 1 - 7 kg COD/m3day.
