The immense diversity in industrial wastewater (e.g. concentration, flow) and local circumstances (e.g. discharge limits), creates the need to have several or combination of different treatment technologies, to offer the best solution, both from economical and technological point of view.
Aerobic treatment converts the organic pollutants (COD, BOD) in the wastewater into a fair amount of excess sludge, and oxidizes the rest with oxygen (air) to carbon dioxide.
This causes high operating costs for sludge treatment and/or sludge disposal and energy costs for the aeration.
Anaerobic treatment systems are normally preferred due to the high operation costs of the aerobic systems. However, the aerobic processes are able to remove more pollution than the anaerobic processes, therefore aerobic process is always needed as a complementary polishing treatment, in cases like river discharging standards that have to be met.
Aerobic technology can also treat wastewaters which are not suited for anaerobic treatment.
The aerobic processes which HydroThane can offer are:
- HydroThane STP FA - Flash Aeration process for fast sulphide oxidation
- HydroThane STP MBR - Membrane Bioreactor
- HydroThane STP MBBR - Moving Bed Bio Reactor
- HydroThane STP SBR - Sequence Batch Reactor
- HydroThane STP AP-N/D - Aeration process with Nitrification / Denitrification
